9-1-1 FOR BUSINESSES
Keyholder/Contact Information
When there is an after-hours emergency at your business such as a fire, break-in,
or vandalism, it is important that Emergency Communications knows who to
contact.  Emergency Communications maintains after-hours information about
businesses in Sumner County so contact can be made with the business owner or
keyholder.

To ensure your information is up to date, download the form below and fax it to
Watch Supervisor Marcie Bristor at 620 326 3860.  Information should be updated
whenever there is a change in ownership, proprietorship, or keyholder.
Alarms
Some burglary alarms function by automatically dialing 9-1-1 and playing a pre-recorded message
that the alarm has activated.
During thunderstorms, wind storms, or power surges, these alarms can malfunction and repeatedly
dial 9-1-1 until it they are reset.  These repeated activations tie up 9-1-1 lines  preventing others
with emergencies from calling, and takes valuable dispatcher time in answering these calls.
For this reason, Sumner County does not allow automatic dialing alarms that directly call 9-1-1.
Businesses should contact private alarm companies for information about how they can arm their
business.
